About Gravity and Frictional Force

Gravity

Gravity is all about the earth pull us downwards.

Example:

  • Your apple fall. It always fall downwards, it never fall upwards.
  • You kick a ball, the ball will also go down again it will never fly.
  • You try to jump as high as you can, and you will go back to the ground.

Gravity is also useful.

Example:
  • Gravity helps us whenever we want to slide or roll anything down a slope.
  • Every time we weigh something, we are really measuring how hard gravity pulls it down.
  • Gravity also makes rain and snow fall to the earth's surface.
  • Then because of gravity, water from the rain and melted snow sinks into the ground or runs downhill into streams and lake.

Frictional Force

Frictional force is a force that make objects stop or slow down.
You can find under your shoes its look like a mountain that make you slow down or stop easier.

Example of frictional force:
  • your bike wheel
  • your shoes
  • car
